A time to nurture:
We’ve left spring – a flurry of activity, of planting, of starting new projects – and moved into summer. If we follow the natural flow of things, summer is truly the time to nurture. It is a time when the seeds have been planted and now it’s time for sun, water and fertilizer.
I would ask you to take a moment to reflect on what you’d like to nurture in your life and what habits have become weeds – habits that are choking those things you’d like to nurture. If you’d like to nurture a healthy lifestyle but you’re drinking 10 energy drinks a day – those energy drinks may be a weed that you need to wean yourself off of. Or maybe you want to get organized but you’re hindered by your own thinking that tells you “I may need that some day.”
As a summer assignment, I encourage you to make up two lists – things you want to nurture and weeds. Then it’s time to get to work getting those weeds out from the root and giving lots of attention to those great plants that will bear exactly the fruit you want.
